A magical Christmas

Well,I must say this was a wonderful Christmas...Everything is changing so much and it seems to be harder and harder to get everyone together and a lot of things changed this year but it was still a wonderful Christmas season. On Christmas eve we went to Marshall's Grandmothers and ate dinner and opened up presents with them. After that it was off to mom and Dad's for more food ,more presents and quality time with the family. We left moms at 8:30 and all the way home listened to the boys singing Christmas carols, It was so sweet they were singing and talking about what they thought Santa would bring them.

After leaving mom and Dad's it was time to head home and open some presents from mommy and Daddy and boy were they excited.BB guns, and Nintendo DS's for everyone, several new board games, some star wars toys, nerf dart tag and lots of other goodies. We spent quite some time putting batteries in everything and cleaning up the huge mess and after a few minutes of playing it was time to get ready for bed so Santa would come. Usually we tuck the boys in and say prayers with them but on this night they were up the stairs and praying while putting their pj's on.

Christmas morning was full of excitement in the Burnett house, the boys were up by 7:00 and ready to see what Santa brought, and as usual he brought exactly what they asked him to bring....We spent a lot of time playing with the boys checking out all they got and than Daddy took the outside for their most favorite part of the day. Shooting BB guns. Carson was not to sure about his at first but he got the hang of it, All of the boys hit the target the first time and Daddy was very excited...

With the guns put away it was now time to get ready for our Christmas dinner with the family, Nana and papa came over as well as Mikey and Carie and we had the most wonderful and yummy meal,We sat around and talked for a while and just enjoyed each others company and of course watched all the kids play..And then the most magical thing happened, it started to snow...Yep that's right our first white Christmas, By 8:00 pm the family had all gone home and the snow was still coming, and the yard was beautiful . the boys kept asking me to let them go play but I said no. it was dark and cold, and we could always play in the morning. But of course I started thinking it over and it dawned on me that this time of year is all about traditions, and making memories. I realized that years from now they would not remember all of the toys that they just had to have, even the BB guns but they would always remember their first white Christmas and how mama bundled them up and took them out for a snowball fight and had hot chocolate waiting for them when they came back inside.

The day after Christmas was spent with my wonderful in laws,it was great having most of the Burnett family all together again for the Holidays, we opened more presents, ate another one of Leo's fabulous meals and enjoyed each others company every one was a little sad that Cassidy did not make it because of the weather but Marshall and I were able to get her today... She was very excited to get her Tony hawk Wii game and her very own BB gun...She can't wait to shoot with Daddy first thing tomorrow.

So now as I sit here in this strangely quite living room enjoying my tree for the last time I am a little sad because after weeks of shopping, and wrapping, and cleaning, and preparing,Christmas 2010 has come to an end.Just like that it is over but the memories will live on and on. I feel like the most amazingly blessed woman in the world. I have an incredible family, the most amazing husband in the world and four beautiful children,But above all of that I have a Savior who loved me enough to send his only son down to earth to be placed in a manger and to one day die on the cross for my sins...Thank you Jesus for loving us, and for giving my family such magical memories on your birthday :)

GUTTERS AND ALL!!!!!

I have decided that I need to write down everything funny and cute that my little guys say before I forget it. Well last night Bryson was looking at a cow costume that Kaitlyn bought for her little dog (Chewy) he said mama I feel so bad for Chewy,I said Why baby? He said well he has to wear that costume and it has  pink gutters and everything on it....

memories

I have been thinking about my Grandma Baxter a lot lately.Maybe it is because the holidays are fast approaching or maybe just because I miss her terribly. It is funny how the smallest things can bring back a memory.I think of how much she loved my boys,I do believe Carson was her favorite (God love it) She loved for him to sit in her lap and share whatever drink she happened to have in her big cup.It is a strange feeling not having any living grandparents. I wish I could go to her house and hear one of her many stories,or wash my hair with her watered down shampoo. I know these things can never happen again here but one day I will see her again, and who knows she may have a big ole cup of watered down crystal light and a story to share with me :)

My family.
